QUITTR alternatives for iPhone
The best QUITTR alternative depends on which part of QUITTR you used. For blocking, Apple's free Screen Time filter and Open Book (our app) block on the iPhone without a VPN. For a program, streaks and a community, look at Brainbuddy, Fortify or Relay. For a partner who sees reports, look at Ever Accountable or BlockerX.
Direct App Store link · Basic blocking free · iPhone with iOS 17 or later
Updated October 2026. Disclosure: we make Open Book. We have tried to describe every option fairly. Facts below come from each product's own site and App Store listing, read on October 27, 2026.
What QUITTR is, and where it stands
QUITTR is a quit-porn app. Its website describes a dashboard with streaks and progress, a panic button, a community, a personalized plan, lessons, and an AI companion called Melius. Its porn-blocker page says the blocker detects and blocks explicit content across apps, websites and search engines. The site does not say whether the blocker uses a VPN or Apple's Screen Time, and it publishes no prices. Its subscription terms say prices are shown in the app or on the website at purchase.
When we checked on October 27, 2026, the App Store link on QUITTR's website (app ID 6532588521) opened a "not found" page, and Apple's US search API returned no listing for it. We checked again on November 1, 2026, and it was still not on the US App Store. We don't know why, or whether that is temporary. If you already have QUITTR installed, this may not affect you. If you are looking for it now, the options below are on the App Store.
Why people look for an alternative
- They can't find it. As above, the iPhone listing was missing from the US App Store when we checked.
- Privacy. In March 2026, 404 Media reported that QUITTR had exposed private data about the porn habits of hundreds of thousands of users. We could not confirm whether the problem has since been fixed.
- They only want the block. Some people want something that keeps content out of reach, without lessons, a feed or a subscription.
We could not read recent App Store reviews of QUITTR: Apple's public review feed returned none, so we have not summarized what reviewers say.
How we chose
We grouped alternatives by the job QUITTR did for you: blocking, a structured program, or another person who sees your activity. Each one is checked against its maker's site and its US App Store listing, read on October 27, 2026. We did not test every app hands-on. Ratings and prices are as published that day and change. Several of these apps make health claims on their own pages; we don't repeat them here.

If you used QUITTR to block content
Apple Screen Time
Go to Settings, Screen Time, turn on Content & Privacy Restrictions, then App Store, Media, Web, & Games, Web Content, Limit Adult Websites, and add sites under Never Allow (Apple's iOS 26 guide). It is free, uses no VPN, and no one else reviews it. It has no streaks, panic button or community. Our Safari guide walks through it.
Open Book (we make it)
Open Book turns on that Apple filter in Safari whenever blocking is on, and blocks the apps, app categories and websites you choose with Apple's own picker. App exceptions keep the apps you need working. A 30-day challenge counts each day blocking stays on with no pause. Pauses of 15, 30 or 60 minutes, a private Activity log of event types and times, and an optional weekly recap are built in. Basic blocking is free. An optional paid Strict mode ($9.99 a month or $59.99 a year) can lock blocking for 1, 3, 7 or 30 days. It installs no VPN and does not collect or share your browsing history. Compared with QUITTR it has no lessons, AI companion, community or panic button, and it is not bypass-proof. It has no public App Store ratings yet. How Open Book blocks porn on iPhone.
BlockerX
Its App Store listing describes a website blocker for Safari and Chrome, a panic switch that blocks all internet access, an accountability partner with daily browsing reports, a community, and alerts if the VPN is disabled. It says BlockerX requires a subscription to access all features. App Store rating: 4.4 from 8,351 ratings. More in our BlockerX alternatives guide.
If you used QUITTR for the program and community
Brainbuddy
Brainbuddy: Quit PMO offers a 100-day education program, daily check-ins and progress tracking, a community with team challenges, and a content blocker and web filter. Its listing says all features require a paid Brainbuddy Premium subscription after onboarding. App Store rating: 4.7 from 26,015 ratings.
Fortify
Fortify: Find Freedom starts with a personalized assessment, then videos, challenges, tracking and goals, a community, and paid coaching and teletherapy. Its listing describes no blocker; it calls itself "more than just a band-aid or a filter". App Store rating: 4.7 from 3,212 ratings.
Relay
Relay pairs video lessons with a private accountability group, in-app group chat and live meetings, with separate groups for men and women. It is deliberately not a blocker. Its site lists $149 a year after a 7-day free trial. App Store rating: 4.9 from 3,338 ratings.
If you want someone else to see your activity
Ever Accountable
Ever Accountable sends reports to the people you choose, at the level of detail you choose. Its App Store listing says it uses on-device AI with no VPN. Its plans page lists $14.99 a month or $129 a year. App Store rating: 4.1 from 1,016 ratings. See our Ever Accountable alternatives, and the Covenant Eyes alternatives for another partner-based option.
Which one fits
If the block was what helped, start with Apple's setting or Open Book: Apple's setting is free, so is Open Book's basic blocking, and both keep your browsing on your phone. If daily structure and other people working on the same thing helped, try Brainbuddy, Fortify or Relay, and check what each one costs before the trial ends. If you want a person who sees your activity, choose Ever Accountable or BlockerX, and read what each one records. Some people combine a blocker with a program.
