Common questions
How do I invite the person supporting me?
Open the app, choose someone you trust, and send them the invite link. They create a free web account to use their private portal; they do not need the app or a paid seat.
How do I change or remove my partner?
From Account, you can remove your partner or invite a different one at any time. Removing them lets them know the connection ended — it never needs their approval.
What can my partner see?
Their portal shows event types and check-in information — never a site, an app, a screenshot, or browsing history. A missed check-in can reflect connectivity or background delivery and does not prove the current state of protection. Optional SMS alerts are status-free. See our privacy page for the full detail.
Will check-ins arrive while Open Book is closed?
Open Book can send check-ins during iOS background activity, but not on a guaranteed hourly schedule. An idle or offline phone can delay them. If you force-quit Open Book, reopen it to allow background transfers again. Open the app every few weeks to renew its 30-day background access. A late or missing check-in does not prove that protection changed.
