Terms of Service — Open Book

1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Open Book mobile application and its related web dashboard ("the App"), published by Reno Labs, LLC ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. What the App Does

Open Book lets you block categories of content on your own device using Apple's Screen Time / Family Controls, and, optionally, invite a trusted person to receive simple status notifications about your device protection. Blocking settings are chosen by you and applied on your device, and are always reversible by you in iOS Settings. Open Book does not guarantee that any content will be blocked in all circumstances.

3. Eligibility

The App is intended for adults. You must be of the age of majority in your place of residence to purchase a subscription.

4. Accountability Connections

You may invite one or more people to be your accountability partner. A partner sees only the type of status events and your protection status — never what you browse or block. Participation is voluntary for both sides, and either party may end a connection at any time. Notifications to a partner are informational and never require the partner's approval for you to change your own settings, except where you yourself request a temporary pause and choose to route it through a partner.

5. Text-Message (SMS) Program

By opting in through our web form, an accountability partner agrees to receive transactional SMS alerts about the connection (for example: the device stopped checking in, a pause was requested, or the connection ended).

To opt out, reply STOP to any message at any time; for help, reply HELP or email support@renolabshq.com.
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your mobile information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy and is never shared with third parties for marketing.

6. Subscriptions, Auto-Renewal & Cancellation

Open Book offers an auto-renewing subscription that unlocks its accountability features:

Annual — $59.99 per year, with a 14-day free trial for eligible new subscribers.
Monthly — $9.99 per month.

The person you invite as an accountability partner is never charged. Prices are shown in the App in your local currency before you confirm and may vary by region. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel at any time in the App Store: open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store Terms of Sale. The Apple Standard EULA also applies.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or attempt to circumvent the App's subscription or security mechanisms, and not to use the App in any unlawful manner.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, its design, content, and trademarks are owned by Reno Labs and protected by applicable law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the App for your own non-commercial use.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that blocking will be effective in every circumstance.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Reno Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Changes to the App and Terms

We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. When we change these Terms, we will update the "Effective date" above and post the revised version at this URL. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Reno Labs is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
